Chain Innovators and Contributors at FrontLine Expo

2001

The AIM Industry Awards Ceremony kicked off last week's Frontline
Solutions 2000 as editors from Advanstar, Corry Publishing,
and Helmers Publishing got up on stage along with AIM CEO
Larry Roberts to present a variety of awards and recognize
the users and developers of today's cutting edge technology.

Like any trade show, last week's Frontline
Solutions Expo 2000 had its fair share of after-hours parties.
But not many trade shows can say they have an event in which
magazines that are normally competitors cooperate with an
industry trade organization to honor the innovators, integrators,
contributors, and users of supply chain technologies. The
AIM Industry Awards Ceremony kicked off last week's show as
editors from Advanstar, Corry Publishing, and Helmers Publishing
got up on stage along with AIM CEO Larry Roberts to present
a variety of awards and recognize the users and developers
of today's cutting edge technology.
Following remarks made by John Burnell,
editor in chief of Frontline Solutions, on the wide potential
for ADC and mobile computing products in both commercial and
consumer applications, Shannon Lampe, editor in chief of Business
Solutions (a Corry Publishing magazine), gave out the evening's
first awards. The winners of Business Solutions' Total Solution
Provider awards (given to innovative and outstanding VARs
and system integrators) were as follows:
- Innovative Wireless Solution: ID micro
- Innovative Wireless Solution: Abaco
- Innovative Supply Chain Solution: TriData
Technologies
Ms. Lampe said that two awards were given
in the wireless category because both applications deserved
recognition.

for McKessonHBOC, accepts ID Systems' Supply Chain Innovator
User Award from editor-in-chief David L. Andrews (at left).
ID Systems (a Helmers publication, now
Supply Chain Systems Magazine), the resource for supply chain
automation, then gave out its awards to the three user organizations
that received the highest number of votes from IDS editors
in the voting for the top ten Supply Chain Innovator User
Awards. For more information on the three winners and seven
honorable mentions, see "ID Systems Supply Chain Innovator
2000 Showcase," from the October 2000 issue. The three
winners of the Supply Chain Innovator User Awards were:
- Honda Trading America (a Blinco Systems'
client since 1993)
- McKessonHBOC
- MiTAC International
After the awards presentation, which was
also sponsored by Corry Publishing's Scan: The Data Capture
Report, the approximately 200 attendees, which included members
of the AIDC 100, noshed, conversed, and generally enjoyed
each other's company. And then, it was time for attendees
to leave and either plan for the upcoming show, complete booth
setup, or fly back home to continue improving their companies'
supply chains.
